West Kent College
1. About Us
The College employs over 650 staff, full-time student numbers are approximately 2,400 and part-time in excess of 12,000. We have improved school links significantly in the last two years and have around 400 pupils on link programmes. The College has seen many exciting development in recent years and the progress continues to move at a fast pace.
West Kent is one of the most attractive areas in the South East region, road and rail networks are excellent, and the College offers a very pleasant venue at its main campus in Tonbridge.

Construction Crafts were reintroduced after a nine year gap in 2004/05 and enrolments are very high on full and part-time programmes. Other significant new provision includes Public Services, Fashion and Textiles and we are introducing Sports courses through a substantial Sports Academy in September ’05.
West Kent College is a Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) for Health & Social Care in an increasingly successful partnership with South Kent College.
The College has strong provision in four IT outreach centres in local town high street venues, and is one of the largest providers of work based training in Care homes in the region.
We have ambitions to further develop our Higher Education offer through partnership links with primarily the University of Greenwich. We also have links in specific vocational areas with the University of Kent and Canterbury Christ Church College.
We are in the process of applying for the newAction for Business Collegeaccreditation and this reflects a priority commitment to developing our employer engagement and workforce development provision.
